Why Can't I Just Learn On Youtube For Free?
Believe it or not this is one of my favourite questions to get asked!
The answer to this question is simply. If you can great go for it! See how far it takes you.
Then call me to book a lesson to see how far you have progressed.

I actually invite you to go start learning on youtube as quick as possible. It actually shows me that you are eager to learn and are willing to put the effort in! Most of my guitar students these days start on youtube and at some point get stuck and confused. Even though they are getting shown in a video how to do or play something, there isn't a lot of structure.
They will ask themselves these questions:

Am I doing this correctly?

Did I really understand that video properly?

Okay, I got this down but now what?

Why does it sound good when he or she plays it but not me?

Why am I not improving like they promised?

In my opinion you need constant real life feedback in order to really improve guitar playing. I usually ask a student to play me song or show me what they have learned on youtube and then give them my notes. Usually it's their right hand technique and lack of structure that holds them back in there playing. I will show the student how to learn the guitar properly and even show them how to use youtube properly as a good resource! Youtube is amazing for learning covers, riffs, solos and watching live performances but you just need to learn how to use it properly!

There is really nothing like an in person student teacher bond! Getting the right mentors will change your life. I remember my teacher showing me the ropes. I learnt everything from him and I still quote him to this day. He really was like my yoda.
